Science/DT Teacher

【Job Responsibilities】
– Develop teaching plans and complete teaching tasks;
– Adjust teaching pace and methods based on students’ actual learning situations;
– Design curriculum and undertake related tasks such as lesson preparation, grading, and follow-up work;
– Maintain effective communication with students and parents, actively understanding students’ needs;
– Actively participate in various trainings, meetings, and activities organized by the school and department to enhance teaching skills and teamwork capabilities.

【Job Requirements】
– Background in Chinese language education, with preference given to candidates with relevant work experience;
– Passionate about education, approachable, and possessing strong communication skills;
– Solid understanding of educational principles and familiarity with the psychology of primary school students;
– Proficient in employing diverse teaching methods to achieve educational goals, with expertise in heuristic teaching;
– Skilled in using office software;
– Possess a teaching qualification certificate for the corresponding subject.

【Position Summary (if applicable)】

Responsible for delivering Design & Technology (DT) lessons to primary school students (Grades 1–5), ensuring classes are creative, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate. The role focuses on fostering students’ design thinking, problem-solving skills, and practical creativity through engaging projects and inquiry-based learning.

【Key Responsibilities】

1.Plan and deliver a structured DT program tailored to primary students, integrating design, making, and basic engineering concepts.

2.Design age-appropriate, project-based lessons that encourage creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning.

3.Introduce students to fundamental DT skills, including designing, building, evaluating, and improving products or models.

4.Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity and collaboration.

5.Guide students in using tools, materials, and equipment safely and responsibly.

6.Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support skill development and creativity.

7.Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects (e.g., integrating DT with Science, Math, or Art).

8.Maintain classroom resources, tools, and materials, ensuring proper organization and safety standards.

9.Participate in school events, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities such as maker clubs or STEAM programs.

【Candidate Requirements】

Essential:

-Experience teaching in Chinese bilingual schools or international primary schools

-Ability to deliver engaging, hands-on lessons for young learners

-Strong classroom management skills

Preferred:

-Experience teaching Design & Technology, STEAM, or related subjects

-Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., IB PYP, UK Primary, or similar frameworks)

-Experience in project-based or inquiry-based learning environments

-International or cross-cultural teaching experience

【Contract Details】

Contract Length: [2 years]
