Principal’s Monthly Letter In March 2025
Principal’s Monthly Letter
1st April, 2025
Dear colleagues,
The gentle breeze of March sweeps across our campus, carrying the fragrance of peach blossoms and the breath of hope. In this vibrant season, our faculty staff have nurtured the soil of education with dedication, while students have blossomed with creativity. Let us now reflect on this month’s achievements and envision an even brighter future.
TEACHING AND LEARNING:
Primary School: In pastoral care, the division organized spring social practice activities and themed class meetings to boost students’ social responsibility. The Sports Carnival during breaks enhanced physical fitness and teamwork, while the mentorship program offers ongoing personalized guidance for each student. Academically, routine checks on homework and lesson plans, coupled with classroom observation feedback, ensure high teaching quality and interdisciplinary resource integration. What’s more, the division excelled in district-level subject evaluations and pioneered co-teaching models through joint research, supporting differentiated instruction. Subject groups also completed curriculum upgrades to highlight key discipline features.
Middle School: In pastoral care, the Dynamic Mentorship initiative launched diverse teacher-student clubs to create a balanced learning pace. Film-based and etiquette education effectively cultivated students’ aesthetic appreciation and social graces. Year groups also designed personalized solutions and initiated one-on-one parent visits to strengthen home-school collaboration. In academics, teaching research groups advanced project-based training, using visual feedback to identify teaching styles and optimize practice strategies. Meanwhile, the English Division and Trivium program jointly prepared an English speech showcase, promoting local-international teacher integration and providing students a platform to display their unique language skills, thinking abilities, and adaptability.

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT:
This month, the school partnered with the School of Foreign Languages at ECNU to launch the “China-Australia Cup” and “Trivium Cup” English Cultural Innovation Competition. In May, we will jointly host this national event for primary and secondary school students, with support from the Wujin Town Government, Minhang Education Institute, and Shanghai Students’ English Newspaper. Looking ahead, the school will establish a “Base for Cultivating Outstanding and Innovative Language and Cultural Talents in Basic Education,” supported by ECNU, to promote innovative talent development across all educational levels and to provide students with an even broader platform for growth. It reflects both the school’s strength and its commitment to social responsibility.
In curriculum development, efforts are focused on creating the “Shenghua Student Profile.” The Principal’s Office coordinates with academic divisions and year groups to build a student profile from children’s perspectives, covering academic achievement and personal growth. The CCA course evaluation system is also being upgraded to ensure high-quality teaching. In terms of brand building, a public education salon for families transitioning from kindergarten to primary and primary to middle school attracted nearly 300 families and received widespread acclaim. Regarding staff welfare, continuous improvements were made, including the optimization of the pension scheme and support for residency permit applications. Major arts events such as the Vienna World Peace Choral Festival and the British Royal Music Camp were actively prepared to highlight the school’s educational impact and international characteristics. In logistics and support, services were refined, home-school cooperation was strengthened, and an open-door approach to education was maintained. These initiatives have injected new vitality into the school’s continuous development and propelled overall educational standards toward higher goals.
STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT:
In March, students flourished through diverse campus activities. The Primary School’s “Around the World in 80 Days” project exposed students to global cultures and cuisines, promoting open-mindedness. Children’s philosophy courses ignited curiosity and encouraged dialectical thinking. The “Happy Farm” program, integrated with Tree Planting Day, highlighted ecological wisdom. In Middle School, English Day enhanced communication skills through an immersive language experience. The “π Pair” competition made learning math fun and challenging. The English speech showcase built confidence and fostered personal growth. Additionally, the 3rd Youth Trekking Urban Competition concluded successfully, showcasing teamwork and perseverance. The Trivium Program’s corporate visits to Zizhu Hi-Tech Park broadened students’ understanding of professional and industrial landscapes.
Our students also attained exceptional results across numerous competitions and events. Congratulations to Xu Yiqi, Qin Siqi, Wu Yuhan, Zhang Luoning, Wang Xicheng, Li Zhongren, Zhao Youning, Chen Yiyao, Sun Yifei, Zhang Jiaming, Zhang Qiaoyi, Weng Yanxi, and all other remarkable performers for their exceptional achievements across academic competitions, sports tournaments, and special challenges. Their accomplishments in writing contests, mathematics competitions, table tennis, chess, floorball, and outdoor expeditions vividly demonstrate the outstanding results of our academic-focused holistic education, inspiring us all as we look forward to witnessing their continued growth and future successes.

TEACHERS DEVELOPMENT:
This month, the Development Center brought in top-tier training resources to create diverse professional development platforms for teachers. The English Division engaged deeply in NGL reading seminars and Cambridge curriculum training, seeking new teaching models through collaborative learning. The Chinese Division attended city-level classical poetry workshops, bringing poetic beauty into modern classrooms. Several teachers also joined “AI+PBL” and British Science Association STEM certification workshops, boosting their cross-disciplinary teaching and engineering thinking skills. Meanwhile, subject groups held teaching evaluation activities to inspire professional insight and teaching passion.
We extend our congratulations to Ms. Ding Yan, Ms. Wang Peng, Ms. Yang Shuwen, Ms. Hu Xin, Ms. Wang Jiawen, Ms. Guan Dandan, Ms. Zhang Xia, Mr. Yu Xingxing, Ms. Cheng Mi, Ms. Meng Tingting, Ms. Zhao Yini, Mr. Lin Xu, Ms. Wang Hongmei, Ms. Wu Xia, Ms. Hu Xin, Mr. Mu Shuyun, and Ms. Guo Jianru for their exceptional achievements in guiding students to excellence. These accomplishments reflect our teachers’ unwavering commitment to excellence and their profound impact as guiding lights in students’ educational journeys. Their professional expertise and focused mentorship continue to illuminate paths to success for every learner.

NEW CAMPUS:
Construction of the Lanxiang Lake Campus is steadily progressing this month. Building exteriors are completed, and the elegant curves of arcades and corridors are emerging. Interior decoration in bilingual teaching buildings and sports facilities is on schedule, and outdoor sports field construction is proceeding smoothly. Relocation efforts, including inventory checks and service upgrades, are also advancing. Like everyone here, I am eagerly looking forward to the new campus. In early April, the school will organize campus tours for selected teachers and parents, with details to be communicated by the academic divisions.
Dear colleagues, as we look ahead to April, let’s use innovation as our sail and scholarship as our rudder to tailor growth paths for every child.
