2025年10月下旬,上海圣华紫竹双语学校博雅19名学子踏上爱丁堡公爵国际奖千岛湖皮划艇户外探索铜奖评核之旅,以四天三晚的沉浸式实践,诠释了全人教育的深刻内涵——学习,从不止步于课堂。
In late October 2025, 19 students from SHZS completed a four-day, three-night Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award bronze expedition—kayaking across Qiandao Lake—demonstrating that true learning happens far beyond the classroom.
爱丁堡公爵国际奖(The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award,简称 DofE或IA),由英国爱丁堡公爵于1956年创立。迄今为止,全球已有140多个国家和地区、超过800万名青年参与并完成这一挑战。奖项设有金、银、铜三个级别,核心内容涵盖志愿服务、户外探索、技能学习与体育锻炼(金奖还需增加团体活动科目)等模块,旨在培养年轻人的独立性、责任感、领导力与公民意识。奖项成果得到全球商界领袖、大学和政府的认可,成为众多国际院校评估学生综合素质的重要参考,其获奖者也常在申请世界顶尖大学时脱颖而出,备受青睐。
Founded in 1956 by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE) has engaged over 8 million youth in 140+ countries. Through its bronze, silver, and gold levels, participants develop skills, resilience, and citizenship via volunteering, physical fitness, expeditions, and skill development. Globally recognized by employers and universities, the Award is a mark of distinction that enhances university applications.

午后的千岛湖畔,波光粼粼的水面上进行着最生动的课堂:皮划艇技能练习。从握桨姿势到平衡控制,专业教练以严格的标准打磨每个动作。目的是让孩子们意识到,专业精神是对自己与团队最基本的尊重。
The sparkling waters of Qiandao Lake became a real-world classroom for kayaking. With coaches enforcing strict standards on every detail, the students learned a vital lesson: true professionalism is the foundation of self-respect and teamwork.
在露营基地,理论知识在手中转化为实践能力。选择营地的智慧、使用指北针的技巧、搭建帐篷的要点,这些看似简单的技能,却是走向独立的必经之路。地图上的等高线、天气预报的降水概率、补给点的分布……热烈的讨论中,责任感悄然生长。22点,帐篷营地准时熄灯,湖畔的星河见证着少年们对明日挑战的期待。
Mastering the intricacies of a campsite selection, a compass, and a tent became a rite of passage to independence. Amid lively debates over topography and weather patterns, responsibility quietly blossomed. When the campsite lights dimmed at 10 PM, the stellar river above the lake shone down on the silent promise of a new day’s challenge.

团队力量的绽放

“自给自足”是DofE AJ的评核要求,意味着成员要在有限的预算里自己准备两天餐食,次日小组采购任务中,少年们化身“精算师”,既要考虑团队需求又要营养均衡。晚餐时,几位“大厨”的烹饪技巧被全组称赞,这场“舌尖上的挑战”让少年们明白生活从不是“我要什么”,而是“我能用什么创造什么”。
On a tight budget for their meals, the team shopped wisely and cooked together. Praising their “chefs,” they grasped a bigger lesson: life asks not “What do I want?” but “What can I create with what I have?”
篝火晚会上,成员们互相感谢,才艺环节,孩子们自发合唱起了校歌。歌声在湖面上飘荡,也在每个人心中回荡。这一刻,他们真正理解了”团队”的含义。
Around the campfire, expressions of thanks led to an impromptu school song. Its notes rippled across the water and echoed within, and in that instant, the concept of “team” finally clicked.
风浪中的勇气,
徒步中的坚持

DofE AJ铜奖评核要求:团队自主完成两天一夜的野外旅程,每天确保至少6小时在路上的有目的行进。尽管此行困难重重,但所有参与者均坚持完成既定路程。成员们带着自己所有的行囊和团队的食材进行短途重装徒步,此刻,少年们的肩膀上终于有了重重的责任的实感,在团队的互相搀扶鼓励中,又一次挑战了自己的体力极限。
For their Bronze Award qualifying journey, all participants completed a challenging two-day trek, hiking six hours daily with full gear and team food. Under the physical weight of their packs and responsibilities, they felt the true burden of duty. With mutual support, they pushed their physical limits once more.
皮划艇认证日,每个小组需要在6个Checkpoint打卡,行程途中湖面突起风浪。救援艇已在湖中准备好随时带离成员,“不用帮忙,我们要自己划!” 少年们的回答简短而坚定。
During their kayak certification, as teams navigated to six checkpoints, the weather turned rough. With a rescue boat ready, the young paddlers had a firm answer: “We’ll manage on our own!”

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award shapes character beyond any single trip. Though this journey is over, its spirit continues to inspire. We will consistently provide platforms and opportunities for students to challenge themselves and embrace nature, so that they may carry its lessons of courage and wisdom into the wider world.
