Principal’s Monthly Letter In November 2024
Principal’s Monthly Letter
30th November, 2024
Dear colleagues,
Late November,is a season for harvest as well as for giving thanks. As November slips away, we are on the verge of saying goodbye to autumn and welcome the quiet early winter. In busy November, the school has steadily pushed forward all its undertakings in areas of teaching and learning, home-school collaboration and international exchanges. Now, let’s take a look back on all the events and activities.
TEACHING AND LEARNING:
Primary School: As for pastoral care, Constitution-themed class meetings and fire drills have enhanced awareness, and parents’ open days have promoted home-school collaboration. In teaching, the Project “Around 80 Days” has deepened and shown learning achievements with the Sports Event. The Chinese and Maths departments hosted district-level professional development activities, receiving positive feedback. Routine tasks such as teaching plan inspection and homework feedback have been carried out in an orderly manner, ensuring the continuous enhancement of teaching quality. Special activities like English Week and PM reading have been carried out successively, highlighting the improvement of English reading and comprehensive abilities. Many students have won multiple municipal and district level awards in English, Chinese, maths and other subjects, fully demonstrating their in-depth learning skills and capabilities.
Middle School: has carried out various key tasks in moral education and teaching, striving to promote the holistic development of students. In terms of pastoral care, the opening ceremony of the sports event themed “Around 80 Days” demonstrated the characteristics and unity of the year group. The tutorial system and year-group assemblies have greatly enriched students’ school lives. Parents were invited to give lessons, and teachers were encouraged to take part in various teaching activities. Subject-week activities such as Math Week and English Week were organized either outdoors or on the stage, enabling students to understand the concept of “learning actively and applying knowledge in practice”. The “Open to See the World” project and the Students’ Council in Trivium Centre have further emphasized the internationalization of education. In addition, competitions, mid-term exams, and exam quality analysis were conducted, and teachers summarized and shared their experiences, thus laying a solid foundation for the academic development in Middle School.
SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT:
In November, the school made steady progress in multiple areas. It continuously enhanced the CCA courses and managed external suppliers and teachers. The evaluation system for CCA courses received positive support. The school will keep on improving curriculum planning, as well as management transparency and efficiency to ensure high – quality implementation. Through our combined efforts, issues such as attendance, class-hour calculation, asset inventory, new campus relocation, and salary payment optimization have been gradually standardized and promoted. In the future, the school will further eliminate barriers to information communication and promote a written-information-confirmation system, so as to better protect everyone’s rights and interests. Meanwhile, campus safety measures and
dining services are being continuously strengthened to guarantee the safety of teachers and students.
Dear colleagues, in the course of the school’s transformation and development, the standardization of processes, the updating of policies, as well as the changes in culture and environment will make everyone experience of change and discomfort. However, I have deeply sensed your inclusive, understanding and support. After all, we are well aware that any reform demands great courage and determination! In the days to come, I will redouble my efforts and, together with all of you, make our campus an even better place!
