Learning could happen in every corner of the campus, where is always filled with vigor and vitality. The “Shenghua Students” series articles will show the unique charm of outstanding students in various fields through a unique and diverse perspective.Let’s welcome our seventeenth edition:  “Shenghua Students” written by Mr.Nian Zhoudao. 

I love reading—books are my faithful companions. In my free time, I dive into books to explore the unknown. School Reading Month is a highlight, where I join classmates in activities like book recommendations, “drift bottle” exchanges, story acting, and character dress-up……

Reading has brought me knowledge, friendship, joy, and growth. It has also opened a window for me to observe and explore the world.

My parents and teachers often say, “The result matters, but the process matters more.” I know learning isn’t about cramming for exams, it’s about enjoying the joy and satisfaction. I love solving problems: every attempt and exploration excites me, and every discussion with classmates enriches me.

We completed the Around the World in 80 Days project, researching global cultures and histories. This experience broadened my horizons, strengthened research and planning skills, deepened my understanding of teamwork and communication, built confidence by teaching me to embrace challenges, learn from failure, and how to collaborate with people.

Confidence fuels my constant forward movement. In class, I always raise my hand to speak even when answers aren’t perfect. I excel in hosting and public speaking, having hosted the third-grade ’10-Year-Old Birthday Ceremony’ in English and the school’s Math Week in Chinese, and competed in English dubbing competitions. Whenever nerves hit, I hear a voice in my head: ‘Nian Zhoudao, you’ve got this!’

I know I can do it! I can accept failure, overcome difficulties, and surely achieve my dreams.

I love learning, but sharing knowledge with others is my true passion. My friends and I formed a study group to tackle academic challenges together, where I often help peers as a “little teacher,” breaking down concepts and sharing strategies. Our school’s vibrant CCA program and project-based learning span science experiments, art projects, humanities discussions, and global debates. Each experience deepens my understanding of subjects and strengthens friendships, bringing me great joy.

I found that communicating with others broadens my vision and sharpens my thinking. This atmosphere of mutual growth and motivation allows all of us to go further on our learning journey.

You’re a walking “treasure trove of knowledge”—every subject lights up in your eyes. In class, your focus while absorbing knowledge and your warmth helping peers inspire those around you. Learning is a never-ending journey of exploration. May you always keep your passion for knowledge and courage to explore, letting curiosity enlighten your mind and transforming knowledge into innovation. As you grow, keep your eyes on the stars to chase dreams and your feet on the ground to forge ahead, writing your own wonderful story!
